One day

Know Before You Go

  • Car rental information from Regina. If you are flying into Regina, there are a multitude of car rental companies available to suit your every need right from the airport. Hertz, Alamo, Budget and Enterprise will be more than happy to help you.

  • 15 passenger van: If you are travelling from Weyburn, the friendly folks at Barber Motors or 45° Rentals in Yellow Grass can help you out with your needs.

  • What to take with you. When you are travelling in Saskatchewan, your needs will always be dictated by the weather. In the summer, you should always travel with water, sunscreen and bug spray; while in the winter, warm clothing should always be packed in case of motor trouble along with your cell phone. Also have a good pair of walking shoes and a cell phone or camera for some good photo opportunities or videos. Be sure to throw in your golf clubs, fishing rods and some bait!

  • How to get there

    • These activities are listed for Weyburn to Estevan and points in between. A short hour drive from Regina or 2 hours from Minot will get you to a starting point.

  • What to do

    • Golfing is well represented in the southeast with many courses to choose to entertain yourself using.

  • TS & M Woodlawn Golf Club in Estevan has an 18 hole golf course that is nestled in the valley making for a beautiful backdrop.

  • Fishing: If you are looking to catch some jackfish/pike or walleye/pickerel, there are three great options for you close by. Make sure to pick up a fishing licence online, at a Canadian Tire, or a Co-op store.

  • Baseball and hockey games. Cheer on the Weyburn Beavers of the Western Canadian Baseball League in the summer, or take in hockey games of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) with the Weyburn Red Wings or the Estevan Bruins in the winter. There are some excellent senior men and women’s ball games going on nightly at Tom Laing Park or minor hockey in the winter.

  • Estevan Motor Speed Way: 2023 marks Estevan Motor Speedway’s 24th Season of racing at its current location, which operates from May – end of September. Come on out for some exciting races including several categories. Vroom!!

  • Hiking or Biking Trails

    • Estevan and Weyburn both have some excellent walking and biking trails including the Woodlawn trails and the Tatagwa Trail system that are worth checking out.

      • The Soldier’s Tree. It was carved with a chainsaw by Darren Jones out of a 100-year-old cottonwood tree from the Estevan area.

      • The Bucket on Highway 39. It is a large drag bucket from the local coal mine.

      • Estevan Historic Water Tower
